Specialized Setups
Different environments and business objectives often call for tailored configurations of dbWatch Control Center. Thanks to its modular architecture and support for flexible deployment topologies, dbWatch Control Center can adapt to meet requirements for redundancy, scalability, isolation, or automation.
This section highlights practical scenarios where advanced configurations are applied to address:
- High availability
- Multi-datacenter deployments
- Security hardening
- Integration scripting
- Performance optimization
By adjusting your setup to match these scenarios, you can maximize the operational benefits of your monitoring, maintenance, and management workflows.
These setups build upon the foundation described in the Core Concepts & Architecture page.
Available Scenarios
- Mirroring a node for redundancy
A setup that duplicates a node to ensure continued operation in case the primary fails. Helps improve uptime and resilience.
- Scripting Node with Limited Privileges
Deploy a command-line-only dbWatch node for use with CCC scripts. Configure restricted access via Domain Configuration and Firewall for secure, automated task execution.
- Multi-Tenant Instance Segregation
Configure Control Center to manage instances belonging to different business units or clients while applying strict metadata tagging and access isolation.
Coming Examples (Planned Documentation)
- Cloud Router Configuration
Use dbWatch nodes as secure proxies between geographically separated sites or environments. Useful for centralizing access to cloud or hosted databases behind secure nodes.
- Air-Gapped or Disconnected Operation
Operate dbWatch in secure environments with no outbound internet access, including job installation and update strategies using offline bundles.
