License usage overview

The License Management tool in dbWatch Control Center allows administrators to view license usage, see a license summary, and enable optional licenses on already installed database instances.

Currently supported for:

All database platforms supported by dbWatch Control Center

Who is it for

Database Administrators (DBAs): Responsible for assigning and adjusting licenses on monitored instances.

IT Managers: Need insight into how licenses are allocated and used across environments.

Organizations with multiple instances: Useful when managing licenses in bulk across many servers.

This feature is ideal for anyone who needs to track license consumption and adjust licensing dynamically without reinstalling or reconfiguring instances.

Accessing License Management

From the main menu:

Go to Server → Server Configuration → Manage Licenses

This opens the License Management window, where you can:

See active licenses in use

Enable optional licenses for existing database instances

Edit Modes

There are two edit modes available:

Single – Change the license for one selected instance

Multiple – Use the Group/Instance tree on the left-hand side to apply license changes to multiple instances at once

Bulk License Management

By using the Group/Instance tree:

Select multiple instances across groups
