About the architecture

dbWatch is a distributed system that consists of two seperate applications (the dbWatch Server and the dbWatch Monitor) as well as the database schema (the dbWatch Engine), which is installed on each database instance. All components can reside within different physical machines.

The dbWatch Server and dbWatch Monitor are installed through the same installer (dbwatch_windows_[version].exe for Windows and dbwatch_unix_[version].sh for UNIX/Linux).

Click the platform you are installing which then gives you the how to guide for installing on Linux or on Windows.

As dbWatch is a java based application other platforms are also possible and may be supported in the near future.
