Files stored in the users home directory

The monitor stores most of it’s configurations in the .dbwatch/monitor/ in the users home directory. This directory contains the following files:

  • monitor.xml Stores various settings and preferences for the monitor.
  • monitor_connections.xml Contains the collection of servers configured in the monitor.
  • log/monitor.log Log file for the monitor.
  • rmissl.jks This is the java keystore used by the monitor to secure the communication via ssl. Read more

Monitor files in the installation directory

  • monitor.conf Startup configuration for the Monitor. Read more
  • /monitor/lib Contains the executable’s and libraries used by the monitor.
  • /monitor/resources/rmissl.jks This is the java keystore used by the monitor to secure the communication via ssl.

Server files in the installation directory

  • server.conf Startup configuration for the Server. Read more
  • config/server_configuration.xml Server configuration
  • config/server_list_configuration.xml Contains the definition for the lists defined
  • config/data/ Contains static metadata on the entities defined in dbWatch

Server Config directory

This directory is placed early in the servers classpath. It is possible to dramatically change the behaviour of the application by placing files here.

  • /server/config/log4j.xml This file controls the logging of the application. Edit this to change log levels and what is logged where.

Contains the executable’s and libraries used by the server.

Lib directory

  • /server/lib Contains the executable’s and libraries used by the server.

Extensions directory

  • /server/extensions/ This directory contain the extensions installed in this server.

Licence directory

  • /server/license/license This file contain the licence.

Resources directory

  • /server/resources/rmissl.jks This is the java keystore used by the server to secure the communication via ssl. Read more
  • /server/resources/sid.txt This file contains the sid’s used by the auto discover functionality to detect Oracle instances
  • /server/resources/notes/ This directory contains the notes created in the server.
  • /server/resources/properties/ This directory contains properties definitions accessible by dbwql.
  • /server/resources/admin_specifications/ This directory contains the admin specifications provided by dbwatch.
  • /server/resources/admin_specifications_local/ This directory contains the admin specifications provided by the user.
  • /server/resources/agresso/ This directory contains the tasks for monitoring agresso provided by dbwatch.
  • /server/resources/engine/ This directory contains the engine scripts provided by dbwatch.
  • /server/resources/global_reports/ This directory contains the reports provided by dbwatch.
  • /server/resources/global_reports_local/ This directory contains the reports provided by the user.
  • /server/resources/tasks/ This directory contains the tasks provided by dbwatch.
  • /server/resources/tasks_local/ This directory contains the tasks provided by the user.
  • /server/resources/import_area/ Resource files (tasks, reports, admin specifications) placed in this catalogue will be imported by dbWatch.
